These Corona Anvil Orange Shears (AG 5050) are a reliable tool to help you harvest your fruits without damaging the tree or the fruit itself!

First designed and produced in the 1920s, the AG 5050 was one of the first tools introduced by Corona in the citrus industry. It was designed specifically for rapid, high-volume orange, grapefruit, and apple harvesting, and has since been proven to be one of the most efficient and reliable tools on the market.

Crafted from drop-forged steel alloy, these shears are built to last, and their resharpenable, fully heat-treated blades ensure maximum cutting power and precision.

The shears are specially designed to sever fruit cleanly from fruiting spurs, ensuring not to damage the fruit without peeling or ripping its protective peel ensuring the fruit has a longer shelf life and a healthier tree.

In addition, these shears feature custom-ground cutting edges and a balanced spring design, which allows for fast and precise action, making it easy to quickly and efficiently harvest your fruit. The shears also come with a strap for one-handed picking.

Whether you’re a professional fruit grower or a backyard gardener, the AG 5050 Corona Orange Shears are the perfect tool to help you get the job done!

History

In the late 1800s, the first navel orange tree was introduced in the US and planted in Riverside, CA.

The citrus industry flourished locally, but when the fruit was shipped across the country, many were rotten and too damaged to sell. A local teacher and blacksmith realized the fruit was not being harvested properly and designed a tool that could quickly harvest the fruit efficiently and survive the 2-week journey to the east coast.

The tool was known as the Corona Clipper B9 and it helped fuel California's second gold rush. Today it's called the Corona AG 5050, and since it was introduced in 1928, Corona have maintained that tradition of developing tools to help professionals achieve success in gardens, landscape and the orange groves.

*Please Note - These orange shears are sold loose with no branded packaging.
