Borago officinalis

An annual flowering herb with bristly leaves (that deter snails and slugs) and deep lilac star shaped flowers that attract every bee and gin and tonic drinker from miles around.

Position: Loves full sun but won’t mind a little afternoon shading.

Soil: Ensure your soil is nutrient rich so prepare it with fresh manure and compost a fortnight before planting. Likes a well-drained soil type.

Soil pH Level: 6.5-7.0

How to Plant: Sow directly into your patch in spring when daytime temperatures regularly surpass 18-20 degrees. If still too cold, propagate in seed trays and transplant when conditions have improved.

Spacing: 40-50cms

Depth 0.5-1cm

What to plant in: Pot / Ground

Companion Plants Tomato, Strawberry, Cabbage. Borage will attract an array of pollinators through their vivid, bright flowers.
