Fragaria vesca

A red skinned alpine variety of strawberry that is easy to maintain and a prolific producer of small, sweet berries. Favoured by both home and commercial growers thanks to its productivity and resistance to disease.

Position: Full sun preferred.

How to Plant: Use a free draining soil well integrated with compost or good quality potting mix when growing in pots. Chill seeds (use freezer) in a sealed jar for 2 weeks prior to planting and let them return to room temperature before sowing. Germination can take up to one month, so be patient; your daiquiri isn't far off.

Spacing: 20 – 30 cm

Depth 0.5cm - 1.5cm

Note: Seeds are sourced locally and in small batches to ensure they remain at their maximum viability for germination. Seeds viable for 5+ years when stored correctly in a cool, dry, dark place.
