Vermiculite is a clean and sterile horticultural growing medium commonly used in hydroponics or added to potting mixes. Vermiculite helps with moisture retention in sandy soils and aeration of clay soils. It is excellent for mulching and decorating planter boxes and hanging baskets, and can be added to potting mix to improve moisture retention and drainage.

Vermiculite, although less aerating than perlite, is superior for water retention and therefore the amendment of choice for water-loving plants.

Use vermiculite alone, as a covering, or mixed with soil or peat for more rapid seed germination.

Supplied in a plain kraft pouch.
