Enhanced Potting Mix

Add horticultural perlite to your potting mix to improve aeration, drainage and moisture retention. This improves your plants' ability to access the nutrients they need while also reducing your chances of overwatering. Unlike other potting mix additives such as bark, perlite does not break down over time, so your plants & soil will stay healthier for longer!

Propagation

• Cuttings - Root cuttings in a tray or pot of dampened perlite as it evenly holds moisture while allowing oxygen to reach developing roots.
• Seed Germination - Mix perlite with coco coir for a lightweight, free draining medium that promotes seed germination while preventing damping-off diseases.
• Layering - Combine perlite with soil in propagation beds to improve aeration and moisture control for delicate propagules.

Hydroponics

• Standalone Medium - Use perlite as a primary growing medium in systems like wick or drip irrigation setups, where its excellent drainage properties support healthy root development.
• Mixed Medium - Blend perlite with coco coir or vermiculite for a custom hydroponic substrate that balances water retention and aeration.
